Every Visser product is covered against defects in materials and workmanship. The term depends on what you bought.

Every product must be registered to be eligible. It takes about a minute and puts your serial number and purchase date on file.

What's Covered

Defects in materials or workmanship under normal use.

Every reel is serialized. When a component fails, we repair that reel rather than sending a replacement and scrapping the original.

What Isn't Covered

  • Damage from impact, drops, or crushing
  • Damage from disassembly beyond what the manual documents
  • Cosmetic wear that doesn't affect function
  • Reels acquired second-hand - coverage applies to the original purchaser only

Visser reserves the right to decline a claim where a reel shows evidence of neglect or abuse.

Making A Claim

Register the product

Every product has to be registered, wherever you bought it. Unregistered products aren't covered.

Submit a claim

Serial number and a description of what the reel is doing. Photos help where the problem is visible.

Wait for authorization

We'll issue a return authorization. Don't ship anything until you have one.

You cover shipping to us. Within the US, we cover return shipping.

Visser Reels Limited Warranty

Effective 7/27/2026. Applies to products purchased on or after 1/1/2026.

1. What this warranty covers and for how long

Visser Reels LLC warrants that each product listed below will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use, for the period stated, from the date of purchase.

  1. Visser reels, three (3) years from the date of purchase.
  2. Visser Titanium Pliers, the lifetime of the product, for as long as the original purchaser owns them.
  3. Replacement cutters, one (1) year from the date of purchase.

2. Registration required

The product must be registered with Visser Reels LLC to be eligible for coverage under this warranty. Registration is the responsibility of the purchaser and applies to all products regardless of where they were purchased.

A claim cannot be processed for an unregistered product.

3. Who is covered

This warranty extends only to the original purchaser and is not transferable. Coverage for any product ends if that product is sold or otherwise transferred to another party, regardless of how much of the term remains. The term applicable to each product is set out in section 1. 

4. What this warranty does not cover

  1. Damage resulting from impact, dropping, or crushing.
  2. Damage resulting from disassembly beyond the procedures documented in the product manual.
  3. Products that have not been registered with Visser Reels LLC.
  4. Cosmetic wear that does not affect function.
  5. Products acquired from any party other than the original purchaser.

Visser Reels LLC reserves the right to decline a claim where a product shows evidence of neglect or abuse.

5. How to make a claim

Submit a claim using the warranty claim form, including the product serial number and a description of the fault. Photographs are helpful where a fault is externally visible but are not required.

Visser Reels LLC will issue a return authorization. Do not ship a product before receiving one. Unauthorized shipments may be refused or returned at the sender's expense.

6. Shipping

The owner is responsible for shipping charges to Visser Reels LLC, Seymour, Connecticut.

For claims originating within the United States, Visser Reels LLC is responsible for return shipping. For claims originating outside the United States, the owner is responsible for shipping charges in both directions.

7. Remedy

Repair or replacement of the defective component or reel, at the option of Visser Reels LLC, is the exclusive remedy under this warranty.

All warranty work is performed by Visser Reels LLC. Dealers are not authorized to perform warranty repairs.

8. Limitations

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Visser Reels LLC shall not be liable for incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, any Visser product.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

9. Your rights under state law

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

Warranty Questions

FAQs

The serial number is lasered onto the front of the body of the reel. The body of the reel is the same section that the handle is attached to.

We accept returns within 30 days of delivery on unused items in original packaging.
