Body and Gear Strength

Our new patent pending body design has the access cover opposite the main drive gear. This means the large drive gear cannot deflect due to screw on side covers, or covers that are fastened with small screws. Our new gear mounting  is completely captured inside the body for stable  and accurate power. 

 The modular construction allows for easy transformation of all parts. They are CNC machined from aluminum bar stock. This flexibility in the design makes future design  updates simple by adding larger rotors with larger spools, and extending the foot length to accommodate new models to the VISSER Reels line up

The dual stack Pentium drag has multiple carbon fiber washers putting equal pressure, on a solid wall in the spools center, thus keeping the spool always at the correct height as the drag washers wear. This system creates a smooth and powerful drag with a wide range. The spool is waterproof off the reel as well.

One major problem with all reels is contamination from being in an saltwater environment. One does not know what is happening on the inside of the reel. We have a great solution that lets you see in the reel via a removable plug so the reel can be serviced if water entered your reel, saving expensive repair cost

"GEARS ARE THE TRANSMISSION OF POWER"    Our high wear resistant aluminum bronze gears are machined from solid bar stock.  Our pinion is made from hardened stainless steel, supported by 3 ball bearings, and clutch. The special 3D tooth profile is digitally CNC machined   for ultimate smoothness and cranking power.

 A unique telescoping patent pending bail actuator system keeps the bail springs fully enclosed for high reliability and super smooth action.  The dual action also shifts the toggle point to the center so accidental bail closings from a hard cast are eliminated. The CNC machined aluminum rotor is fully ported.

 The large capacity spool is made from CNC machined aluminum alloy The spool lip is made from 6AL-4V Titanium with super hard and slick Type 2 anodize coating.  This aids in casting distance and protects the edge of the spool from damage due to nicks and deformation. 

All future reel's shipments from October 1, 2023, will not come with the finger pickup conversion kit. They still can be purchased from VISSER Reels. For some surfcasters using a finger pickup system is the only way. For we recommend purchasing our new PierMaster. Please refer to the video showing the kit installation.

Some waterproof reels can only be used for either left or right hand retrieve. With the new VISSER Reels the handle can be switched quickly for either left or right hand use. The reel is still water proof even after the handle and cover cap are removed.

Lubrication is the lifeline of any reel. We have looked extensively how to make it most convenient for the user. We recommend a minimum of once per year service for your reel. Our reels can use either oil or grease that is recommended in our manual. 

The VISSER Reels were designed from the ground up. Ease of maintenance was also high on our list. Included with the reel is a Torx screw driver designed by VISSER  to completely service the reel.  This beefy tool is machined from aluminum  and anodized for durability.  View how to use the tool by clicking below
